Cookie Guardian is designed with privacy as its core principle. We collect no personal data, have no servers, and all your information stays on your device.
Data Collection
We collect nothing. Cookie Guardian does not:
- Collect personal information
- Track your browsing activity
- Send data to external servers
- Use analytics or telemetry
- Require an account or login
Local Storage
Cookie Guardian stores the following data locally on your device (never transmitted):
- Your whitelist of protected domains
- Extension settings and preferences
- Statistics about cookies deleted (counts only)
- Deletion log (last 100 entries, stored locally)
Permissions Explained
- cookies - To read and delete cookies from websites
- tabs - To detect when you close tabs and trigger cleanup
- storage - To save your settings locally on your device
- alarms - To schedule delayed cookie cleanup
- notifications - To show optional weekly summary notifications
- contextMenus - For right-click whitelist functionality
- host_permissions - To access cookies from any website you visit
- browsingData (optional) - Premium feature to clear localStorage, IndexedDB, and cache
Premium Payments
Premium purchases are processed by ExtensionPay, a third-party payment processor. We do not store your payment information. ExtensionPay's privacy policy applies to payment transactions.
Third Parties
Cookie Guardian does not share any data with third parties because we don't collect any data to share.
